Whats the difference? Kinda like paying a bill of 2,000 bucks and giving them 1,800. Then saying "thats close enough".
What I "ASKED" was if the difference between your 59,000 and 57,200 was in "BONUS MONEY" GEESH! Simple question, no reason to get bent.

You have to excuse GoldiesPlating he is still just a newb. He will figure it out in a few years. I think what he really wants to do is be a recruiter.

You read / hear about just as many folks at TMC being pissed off at them.

What he can't seem to understand is that the original post was about making 60K right out of driving school.

Most all the replies were: Yeah you can , but as a whole, not many brand new drivers will achieve that.

I did not go back and reread every post , but I don't think anyone ever said that he was not making that.

You cannot write off a TV/DVD player for taxes. At least that's what I was told by two different tax folks. I even tried the 'I use it to check weather conditions' angle. No dice.
Pretty much everything else is tax deductible though.

Well, that's not exactly true. You can lable them as "misc. Equipment" as an asset, then depreceiate them on the same year. It really depends if your a O/O, or a company driver, as to how difficult it becomes. It would go in the same expence account as gloves, log books, tools, etc. Of course do what your tax personal tell you to do. They don't like "shakey expences".

How do you get 59,000 out of that? Bonus pay?
The MAJOR problem with sites like CAD is when posters fail to READ a post they reply to thoroughly. So I'll REPEAT MYSELF.
WHEN I RAN OTR I MADE $1,100.00-$1,300/WEEK. I've only been dedicated for a short time.
So the higher rates PREVIOUSLY combined with my CURRENT rates, WILL be $59,000.
Bunch of damn NITPICKERS on here lately too! Even though I'll be at 59, what the HELL is the DIFFERENCE between 57,200.00 and $59,000 ANYWAY. GEESH
Don't mind these people. You made over a grand a week. Some of the people here don't make that now. Your doing great.

Now for those who are, get off his back. 30-45k maybe alright for you to make in your first year....he did alittle better, due to hard work. Everyone who drives should make at least 52k per year if they are OTR. If you are not, and it's not your fault, you need to change companies, and get with one who will put you to work.

Unless your happy there, then just ignore the comments above. Your happy, and that what's important.

As far as companies who give low miles, ALL companies who do should be avoided. You shouldn't be out there trying to survive, you should be making a good living while away from your home. Or otherwise, what's the point, right?

Just my .02 cents.

Cluggy, I asked a simple question. First he said 60k, then he said 59k. No big deal. After he gave the numbers and said 59k again it was a "LITTLE" off, and if you "Read" I asked if the "difference" was in bonus pay. Meaning I excepted his statement, but wanted to know what "bonus pay" was added if any. I wasn't "On His Back"
And FYI I make over 1k a week "Not Working" and when I start working I would like to keep it close to what I'm doing now, Thus the questions.

I've never had a problem with you, in-fact I like you. Lets not start a pushing contest, and begin disliking each other.

Ok....his numbers are alittle off.. he is doing good for his first year. You should be happy that for a newbi, the possibilities are there to make that kind of cash.

And i did read his post...it started with 1100 - 1300....so the money is right is you do the average, which is 1200. (1200*52=62400) This is while he was OTR. Now he is dedicated, and still in his first year. He pulls a guaranteed 1100 per week, still within his first year. Yea, I can see how he can make the money he claims, because the first part of his year has a higher income than the second.

And I too, don't need a pushing contest. I fall over too easy.
