Default Roadside and Tx Dot

Texas dot gives a new meaning to roadside inspections. I got hit up with a level 2 last night just east of Madisonville on state highway 21. Actually did an inspection in the ditch after dark. All was well though. He found one minor problem on my load securement that did not even result in an out of service. He said the rest of the load was secured "very well" and that this would make no real difference on the load being secure or not. Remember, when Texas says "Roadside" they mean roadside!!!!!

Glad all worked out for ya! The last several months, Texas' roadside inspections have greatly increased! We have contributed much of it to the increase Mexican truck traffic in the state! Even though the FMCSA has only publicly stated a limited number of trucks coming in, they cannot tell me, a driver that spends most of my time in the south and central Texas area, that there are not more than they say.

A bulletin that I found the other day, also showed, in the works, 9 new permanent scale locations with inspection pits, much like the revamped scale on SB I 35 below San Antonio.

Not to mention, the increase CMV inspections done by each and every county in the state now.

As your post shows, if all is in order, and you are courteous to the officer, then you will be on your way in know time.

I think I may have passed you on the highway when that was going down! Was it around 7:45? There was one on the side when I was coming back from Nacodoches around that time.

Later!

Yep 7:30-8:00 on SH21 just east of Madisonville. Were you there? I had a flatbed load of steel trusses.

Hmm, same time frame, same place, but the rig I saw being given the once over was hualing 3 large crates. Could have been his victim before or after you!

Did you load at the plant at Madonsonville?

I travel that stretch allot delivering to drilling platform sites. Was actually on my way back from Alto that night, just used Nacodoches, since nearly nobody knows where Alto, TX is! OH well!
