My suggestion would been to check out E-Bay for a surplus military sleeping bag for cold weather. They can be had for a decent price and will keep you comfortable in the coldest of weather. I remember how toasty they kept me in the Marine Corps

I used to keep sheets and blanket on the bed, but had an extreme cold weather bag, I think rated to -30 under the bunk. You break down or gel up, while in a cold climate, you aren't talking about convenience, you are talking about survival. I keep one in my truck now in the winter even though i only run down south. We had a driver beak down in Ga last winter. He was stuck on the side of the road for 8 hours before they could get to him. Temp was in the high 20's. No where near what it gets to in say MN, but 8 hours in 20 degrees with no heat, bet he wished he had a sleeping bag to crawl into. Even in Tx. like you posted, it still gets cold. I lived in Amarillo for 5 years and it gets dang cold in the winter time.

My point is: A sleeeping bag will be more convenient while you are teaming! It will also provide better insulation in case your co likes it freezing in the truck...get a good BIG sleeping bag...shop around 4 deals!

I also roll over alot and being on top bunk he might say to pipe down
