Hate to tell you this, but don't move to FL....you're making more than teachers here. In fact if some of them here got wind of what you're making they'd try to get your job. Pay here is so low, and the cost of living has gotten so high, the ones who own homes are selling and leaving, the new hires can't afford to even rent an apartment... The Lee County Schoolboard is getting zero % mortgages for them....but they still can't afford the principal payment on a 300K house....imagine that.

the retirement in ms suck for teachers and the pay is even worse so what could i make on a local run in miss
At least you have a retirement plan, and your health benefits are probably better. In this industry, unless you really luck out....there are no "retirement" plans....except your own savings or a 401k plan.. if your employer has one. I would venture to bet you are making more than the above average local driver in your area. And...you get one heck of a lot more time off and actually spend some decent time with your children.

Frankly, and since you asked.... I would suggest that you look into becoming an RV Technician. There is apparently a demand for them. The pay is far better. Do a "google search" for Camping World RV Technician School
or RV Technician Schools Now, it would help to have some mechanical abilities...but its a thought.

I know of two schools: One in Palmetto, FL (near Bradenton/Sarasota) and the other is in Kentucky (Camping World's school).

Its quite possible. But, before you throw yourself on that sword....find out how many years experience OTR did he have to have to get the job. Maybe two, and did he have to have tanker yanker experience? Also, is this $$ amount his verbal claim....or has he shown you pay statements?

In this industry you have to pay for the health insurance also, deductibles can be very high.... but I make alot more than you. Sad, when you come to think of it....I drive a truck and make over 53K a year doing OTR, I'm away from home 3 to 4 weeks and home 3 to 4 days a month..no kids at home, but whats sad is we expect people like you to educate the children....and expect you to do it for "squat"!! Talk about screwed up priorities!!

Seriously, in trucking your only retirement is what you save plus your 401(k). Benefits aren't all that great compared to other industries either, but you DO have a secured job.

Anything is possible...

i have mechanical experience what do you think the school would cost
http://www.cwrvi.com/tuition.cfm go and look. Join their "Presidents Club" for 10 or 15 bucks and save 10% on the tuition....

The answer to the question is....probably/possibly less than a cdl mill and you would actually have a saleable skill that be usable for the rest of your life. Who knows...with your educational background it could even lead to an even better paying job in management....
