IMO, the smarter route would be to skip all the 2 lane highways and anything that resembles NYC, and stick to the interstate. The 40 miles you save by taking the state highways will be eaten up quickly once you get near NYC.
I-83 north to I-81 north to I-88 east to hwy 20, into Albany. 343 miles. No tolls.

I-83 north to I-81 north to I-88 east to hwy 20, into Albany. 343 miles. No tolls. That's the secondary route mapquest gave me, but I wasn't sure it was a good truck route. Haven't been to Albany before. Rev, thanks for taking the time to reply. Makes me feel much more confident about this run. Jeff
