Default Suggestions on route from York to Albany?

Anyone have suggestions for a safe truck route from York PA to Albany, NY?

Any tolls along the way?

1.Head north on N George St/I-83 Bus/PA-181 toward W Clarke Ave1.4 mi
2.Turn right at E 11th Ave213 ft
3.Take the 1st left onto N Ct Alley404 ft
4.Turn right at Arsenal Rd/Lincoln Hwy/US-30 Continue to follow Lincoln Hwy/US-30

5.Take the exit onto US-222 N toward I-76/Reading28.1 mi

IMO, the smarter route would be to skip all the 2 lane highways and anything that resembles NYC, and stick to the interstate. The 40 miles you save by taking the state highways will be eaten up quickly once you get near NYC.

I-83 north to I-81 north to I-88 east to hwy 20, into Albany. 343 miles. No tolls.

That's the secondary route mapquest gave me, but I wasn't sure it was a good truck route. Haven't been to Albany before.

Rev, thanks for taking the time to reply. Makes me feel much more confident about this run.

Just FYI, I-88 is and has been a mess for years.

Temporary crossover lanes, single lanes with jersey barriers, horrible road surface in places.

do yourself a favor and follow Rev's advice. Secondary roads in NY and PA will eat up more time than they are worth.
