I can't imagine too much. He has a lot of charitable causes. And he can always write off his gadgets through Wayne Enterprises.

Well, that did'nt go over too good.

Yeah right, I'm the uppity snobbish truck driver. Tell my wife she does'nt deserve her 100k income and you better have a nut cup on. She was a waitress for 8 years while going through college to get her masters degree and graduated 50k in debt and landed a job for 1800 a month working for the school system in montana. She now works for a county hospital and has her choice of 30 jobs at any given moment 16 years later.

My co-worker was on welfare 5 years ago with 3 kids. State put him through truck driving school. 5 years later he's making 65-70k has another 3 kids and still does'nt pay fed or state tax. Sounds like welfare to me, and i doubt he paid back the schooling or the welfare he received.

Anyway the point i was trying to make was the senario fair??? People attack us i think cause of the large income. Look at this senario

SENARIO-2

my co-worker gross pay 65-70k(stay at home wife, 6 kids)
paid fed $0
paid state $0
total paid $0 (he told me he literally got back every thing he paid in 13k)
(JUST FOR YOU JOSBORN 23.75x2800hrs=66500 plus bonuses,,, too many bong hits have made your eyes bug out and have short term memory loss)

john the grocery clerk(single, 9.61 hour full time, no deducts)
gross 20k
paid fed $2095
paid state 996
total $3091

my 68 year old mom(widow, 1600 month social security, no deducts)
gross 19200
paid fed 1975
paid state 948
total 2923

Soooo,,,, is this FAIR????

My complaint is the shifting of the tax burden to the single, elderly, and higher income people.

SOLUTIONS,,

every one pays at least 3k in fed taxes no matter how many kids you have.

flat tax rate, 8% after deductions for EVERYONE

I like this one, do away with the IRS AND SAVE BILLIONS and all federal taxes are collected through every product purchase or service purchase you make and guess what?? Illegal aliens end up paying taxes.

Don't take this personnelly, if you can't pay your tax burden first, pay for your rights to be an AMERICAN, maybe people would think twice about having that 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th child.

I did'nt post this looking for tax advice, my CPA is very good, almost 60k in write offs, and the 153k was after an 8k business loss.

Just my opinion the system sucks and am not looking down my nose at anyone, one day you may be in my position and have another point of view!!!

Something simply does not add up, he's probably full of shit.

There are some scenarios that would allow him pay next to no taxes. He could be plowing tons of money into a retirement account. You also have to consider he splits his income, and has a lot of kids.

You had a good idea with the flat tax until you added the after deductions.

I would also go for the "taxes are collected through every product purchase or service purchase."

Both of these ideas have been around for years.

I'm not all that keen on the tax breaks for people that have a pile of kids either. It didn't bother me much until this year though.

My Wife and I lost our home in a huge rain event on July 18th 2007 in Bagley WI. We got no help from FEMA at all. They have to have a 6 million dollars or more in damage. The area had approx 1 to 2 million in damage. SOL there. Makes me feel good as you can tell.

We had no flood insurance as it's not supposed to flood there. We did have comp on the 2 cars that were totaled out though. Approx $5500.00. Our home was paid for. It was a mobile home but was perfectly functional for us and I miss it.

Wisconsin has a community development block grant program. It's income based. You can make about $39,000 as a single person. As a married couple you can't make over $44,000. The math doesn't add up does it? Individually we fall underneath that, combined we're over it. We made around $62,000 combined. Filled out the app at the directors request but got nothing there and never heard back from them either. Called them and they said well we're sorry but there's nothing that we can do. My taxes fund that program and I know people that got money $5,000 to $10,000 to fix basements that are the old rock foundations that have leaked since the beginning of time.

We filed our taxes this year and we could deduct the price I gave for the home and any improvements I made in 12 years. We itemized the personal losses this I found out you can only use 25% of the personal losses.
We got $3950.00 back from Federal, $495.00 back from IA the state I work in. This is the slap from our own state. I paid WI $291.00. The state we live in and my wife works in.

I have a co-worker who had a kid in SEPT. She was bragging that she got $5100.00 back on taxes and her boyfreind who has 3 other kids by different people got back $5500.00. They live together. Combined they would make close to what we do probably around $55,000 to $57,000.

Does that seem fair??? We lose a home and get less than someone who squeezes out a kid. That's ridiculous.

My Tax guy tried everything he could come up with but that's how the tax system is set up.

We don't have kids and that's a personal choice. We can't afford them, but damn I've tired of paying for other peoples kids.

The Senario,,,
1, wife and i show 153k in income
pay 15k in fed taxes
pay 4600 in state taxes
pay 4200 in property tax
total of $23,800 paid in taxes for 07'

2, co-worker showed 65-70k in income(wife does not work)
pay 0 in fed taxes
pay 0 in state taxes
pay 0 in property tax (renter)
total of $0 paid (he said he literally got back every thing he paid in 13k)

He has a wife and 6 kids

Now i'm left scratching my head going WTF!!!!

Then the economic stimulas package comes out and we will be lucky if we get the $1200 for a married couple but for sure he will get $3000 for his family.(last time i checked those 6 kids did'nt pay any taxes)

Anyhow, I thought I would ask hard working middle class America what you think about this senario.

BTY, we do feel blessed for the position we are in but on the flip side we want all americans to pull thier wieght and no one household should carry a much bigger tax burden then the next. It was not easy getting to this point after both of us working for 30 years only to get screwed by the government.(one reason I'm not a democrat)

Can I adopt 3 or 4 crack babies and raise them on $23,800 and maybe get 600 to 1200 a month from the government for doing so????

Gotta go, stations are out of gas!!
PEACE OUT, 8) 8)

I think posting your income on a site that is primarily low to middle class truck drivers comes off as bragging if you ask me. (no I'm not jealous as my wife and I also do very well). As far as your co-worker getting off welfare and making 65k driving a truck I think thats awesome and I dont care who payed for the training. How much could it be? 5000? The program worked like it should for that guy. I kinda see your point with taxes but thats the way it is. Corporate America and the rich are going to pay a larger portion. First of all the lower class doesn't make enough to cover the difference anyway. Your talking about 40-50k incomes. How much more can you possibly get out of them? Thats a drop in the bucket compared to someone making say 500k and changing their tax liability from 33% to 8%. How would you make that up? And secondly 80% of the vote is controlled by lower and middle class so it will never happen. I dont think your co-worker should get off with zero liability, not even sure how you do that, earned income credits? Be grateful for what you have and get over it fuelman. Falling on deaf ears on this particular forum.
