Default thanks all

thanks for all the advice but i talked with the company that was gonna hire me and told them i wasnt gonna take the position becouse after all the infomation i recieved, from other drivers and the new york dot i was informed that it is illegal to take 53 and 48 trailers into nyc and the boroughs.they said if caught you will get a ticket the company said they go their all the time with no prblems .and if i did get a ticket theyd pay it well im not willing to get any thng else on my liscence so as much as i miss driving atleast my liscence wont have any violations. the dot did tell me trucks still go in to them places but they do and get caught and then they call them complainiing about the ticket.thanks again

Unfortunately, while the Company will pay for it it still goes on your record. It is no difference then someone telling you to exceed your hours or drive above the posted speed limit and if you get caught - they will pay for it. Fine - but it still ends up on your record. IMHO - you made the right choice.

Since when? 53' trailers go into the boroughs all the time. Ever here of Hunt's Point? It is in one of those boroughs. It is illegal to take a 53' into Manhatten. 53's deliver into the boroughs everyday.

i think he found this site and then followed up with this page which states that 53's are illegal, but didn't read that daily permits are available.

how many of us dragging 53's around town have permits is debatable. ops: :P
