I have to call BS here. I just dont see it happening like you say.
There are 3 reasons why your story doesnt fly. First of all, if you had a misdemeaner in the last 3 years you should have been disqaulified right away by the recruiter. We just dont hire people with criminal records so soon. Second....Even if you got a recruiter that didnt know that or a recruiter who tried to sling you down to see if he could get you to stick. You would have talked to a scheduler who did your app on your phone. He or she would have asked you if you had any criminal record. The scheduler is an hourly employee, he or she doesnt make any extra money for you being hired. If you would have told him or her that you had a criminal record the process would have stopped right there. You would have never been scheduled for orientation. The third thing that would have happened is that you would have talked with an investigator, he or she would have asked you about criminal records. Again, if you would have said "yes" the process would have stopped right there. Lets look at it another way. If you were kicked out of orientation say yesterday, I can guarantee your recruiter was running around here yesterday claiming that another driver lied to him and wasted his time. You are angry at the recruiter and the recruiter is angry at you and saying you lied to him. Now if we were in a court of law, who would have the evidence? To prove it in a court of law, you would have to show WHY the recruiter would lie to you. In other words, what would he gain? The recruiter spent a lot of time trying to hire you, and guess what? He made abosolutly NOTHING for the time he spent trying to hire you. In fact the company lost a lot of money sending you to orientation and then sending you home. You on the other hand actually made a little money. If I were sitting on a jury, I just dont see the evidence of your story. I would see that the company lost money, the recruiter lost time, I would see the company policies in place that keeps what you said from happening. I would even probably see the notes in the computer put there by the scheduler and the investigator where they asked you about a criminal record and put your answer on it. Now the final thing that shows that it wasnt the recruiters fault you got sent home. To be blunt.....the recruiter didnt create your criminal record. You made that choice all by yourself. Now, I wasnt your recruiter, I dont know you or your story. But, I have been doing this a long time and I personally have been accused by drivers of lying to them when they were sent home when in fact it was the driver who really lied to me. Reality, about 30% of the drivers I send to orientation get sent home. The most common reason this happens is because the driver wasnt truthful on his app. The other reasons are failed drug test, failed driving test or medical. I just dont see any of those being the recruiters fault. But I can guarantee about 90% of those drivers sent home would blame the recruiter if you asked them. Its much easier for someone to pass the blame than accept personal faults. That is just human nature.

You know, this isn't the first JB Hunt recruiting horror story here, I smell a pattern. Or maybe it's wolves in sheeps clothing....
