Truckdriving in Iraq

Yoopr: I want to offer you an apology. I've been having a bad time lately, and I guess I'm just mad at the world! I like to argue, and I guess something you said just "set me off."
I'm not offering that as an excuse. I don't really HAVE one. I feel I was out of line and MEAN. And I don't like me when I'm that way. So.... it is ONLY an apology that I offer. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't accept it. Perhaps, I've gotten the wrong impression about you. Words on a screen, even WITH emoticons, serve YOU no better than they serve ME. With that in mind, I really WOULD like to read the article on you. Can you tell me (and others) where to find it? I think we both made some points, and you certainly GAVE as good as you got! But, I am sincerely sorry for the way I attacked YOU personally, and another VET in general. I'm sure I didn't hurt YOUR feelings. You are not one to be easily "stood down." I'm apologizing because I hurt my OWN feelings! I must live with myself, and I'm not proud of the way I spoke to you. So... again, with no reservations, I offer my sincere apology. And, I reconfirm my respect for you as a veteran of our military forces, AND for your bravery as a civilian contractor in Iraq. And, I'm GLAD you made it home alive, as I TOO have enjoyed many of your posts. I don't expect forgiveness, so say what you want. But, I do hope, with time, this might be forgotten. (Heck... we're BOTH old farts with failing memories, aren't we? ) The world still turns (for now,) and each day above ground is a good one. So... I wish you many MORE of the same! Hobo

which magazine is article in? or where can i read on yoopr It was several month's ago that the article was written. Yoopr didn't do the article to put himself in the limelight, but more as a tribute to others serving in Iraq and harms way.

That's not to mention the 120-130+ degree days. Then if you survive that, you'll have to get past the roadside bombs, being kidnapped, and the increasing threat of being caught in the middle of a civil war. There's not enough money in Iraq to make me want to try it.

If you READ I said his Post was BS and If you think you're too good for the Military You wouldn't fit in anyway. You're Under DOD and the Dept. of Army Rules and Regs and the Vast majority of Tanker drivers and Flatbed Drivers are Vets-Most with Combat experience.

Hopefully, by the time I get old ENOUGH and have enough (2 years +) driving experience, this war will have died down, or maybe even stopped. (Edited to add the forgotten "old ENOUGH and have enough driving experience")

Driving a truck in Iraq is somewhat of an interest to me, but actually becoming a soldier IS NOT. That's why I wouldn't want to join the Army. My hats off to those who are in the Army, Marine Cor., or any branch that is over there fighting, no matter what their job description.

What I'm sayin' is it'll still be about 2 or 3 years before I'd be able to go drive a truck over there, and hopefully, in about 2 or 3 years time, this war will have come to an end. Or, if not an end, at least most of the violence and fighting will have stopped.
