Trucker in Ohio was driving too fast
#41
At first I was thinking..."Reverse Injector seat"..and imagine a seat that breaks away and towards the rear of the cab....negating the usefullness of the seatbelt altogether.
Not the case! The Reverse Ejector Seat Nightmare scenario: somehow the Cascadia rolls, and the safety features snap into action. The seatbelt tightens, the side airbags deploy, and to make more headroom, the truck’s seat fires downward to the floor like a reverse ejection seat. Everything happens in less than a second, greatly improving the odds of walking away from a bad wreck.

I have never met the driver prior to his demise. Did multiple witnesses report he was driving erratically or violating any laws? Surley there was a cell phone in use nearby? I didn't recall the article mentioning that. Maybe I missed it. IMO you should be tuned in prior to broadcasting until the facts are avaiable. But hey, speaking your mind is the beauty of this board. Everyone at one point or another during their life has screwed up. Cut the Dead Guy some slack. He's already paid the ultimate sacrafice to deliver a load not worth Dying for. Im with Ya on this one! But some of these guys have more time on there hands and think they are gods NEW gift to the trucking industry...lol Stick around a while they will stick their heads out and make it known who they are....lol

Oh yeah....down past the scales south of Jeffersonville...3 of them BBR's was yakking with Troopers on the shoulder of the road....I changed lanes before I go to the first Patrol car. 8) Almost sounds like another driver in the middle lane running slower than the flow and wondering why drivers are pissed. Run the speed limit all you want, I wont say a word to you! but slower traffic keep right, at least thats what the signs SAY!!!! Hang up your phone, close up your Laptop, get off your Qualcomm, turn off your TV and drive your truck..we will all be safer.

I'll be DEAD so WTF do I care? Why dont you ride around with an EMS, Fire, Police or wrecker company for a few days. Go to some fatality accidents caused by carelessness and stupidity. And I tell you this, the cops, the fire dept, and anyone else who is involved with the cleanup of an accident scene have no pity for anyone who causes the accident and the trauma and heartache. I have pity for innocent victims, not for idiots who could have prevented this mess to begin with. I suppose thinking isnt on your list of "things to do today"? Oh, dont forget to blink. So dont say I didnt help you on your way, today.

Hang up your phone, close up your Laptop, get off your Qualcomm, turn off your TV and drive your truck..we will all be safer. The only time I do not run the right lane, is when I am in a Metro area like LA or Houston, where the right lane is a nightmare for trucks going straight through. Yes...then I tend to run one or two lanes to the left of the right lane...I also attempt to run at the flow of traffic....which most times isn't to hard...when the flow is 20 or 30 mph. I stay out of the right lane, so as to avoid being caught up in the exiting and merging traffic games. Regardless of traffic volumes, if a tanker is at or close to, the posted speed limit, regardless of it's lane position, BBR's still have the responsibility of being aware that the tanker is there, and that the placards on a tanker are advising that caution should be afforded the unit. Some of the chemicals that are contained in the tankers you pass by, are extremely nasty indeed. As I've said...I've been in this game a long time..about as long as you have. I do not let these guy's who run their rig's right up on the back of the trailer, then start see-sawing back and forth, back there..intimidate me. Hell...their the ones who's life is in danger...if they do something that goes really bad..I have the option to run forward, away from an accident, and the chemicals that could be spilling from the trailer. It's to bad the driver from Idaho died, up there in Ohio. We won't ever know what exactly happened..unless someone choses to follow this story, and keep everyone here up dated on the specifics.

So dont say I didnt help you on your way, today. My bad, I tried to argue with an idiot. I guess this smart guy knows everything but I'll ask the Trailer park Einstein this.... Ever had help clean up an accident scene? I dont mean sitting in your trailer watching cops while slugging down Keystone light beer that you brought home on your 10 speed, but actually had to watch a dead kid being scooped out of a car because that kid was killed because of the actions of an idiot? Guess not, smart guy. Have another Keystone , turn on "Cops" , sit around in your Tweety t-shirt and boxers and pretend you have a clue about the real world. Here's today' helpful hint..........Dont forget to blink.

Well, I can see we can go around and around on this topic. So I'll say it once again. Who gives a sh*t? Maybe you hero worship these people so much that you are willing to give up your right to think for yourself, but not me. Callous and cold hearted behavior is callous and cold hearted behavior regardless of who it is. Your inability to argue your position effectively is all the proof I need to conclude that you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
