I got mine....company reimbursed for it....and because I already had hazmat it came back pretty quick. Since I originate out of and often deliver back to the Savannah area its needed to go to loading points here. Also we go to other ports as well. I can well imagine that before to long many places are going to want to see it as well.

One of my good friends is an engineer for another towboat company that is held entirely by Cargill and they are now required to have it as well. I'm sure the "old timers" will have issues with it but for the newbies it's just another part of doing business.

I'm seeing something here.....looking........looking....LOOKING.....I see a green and white boat......I seeeeee...I seeee........I seee FOSS.

Port Canaveral requires the card for entry, While the Port of Tampa will let you get in for the next month or so as long as you can show you have applied for the card, you also need a port pass in Tampa while none is needed for Canaveral. So it is quite apparent that the rules vary from Port to Port.
Took me all of 30 minutes in the office and a four week waiting period to get mine, the comapny paid for it, plus reimbursed us for mileage and time.

They must have been real happy to see me.

I had an email in 9 or 10 days saying mine was ready to be picked up.

So basically this is only something you need if your hauling to/from ports, correct?
