Default Update, bragging, and question or 2

For those who have been following at all, we are back home from picking my husband up. He finished driving school, graduated out of Roadmasters yesterday.
The bragging part is he made 100 on his driving test! I don't know how much impact that will actually make, and if it will be impressive to anybody else, but we are very proud of him.
He is still holding out hoping to hear from Maverick. We were supposed to call them this afternoon to check on the app but did not get back home in time like we thought we would. He has a pre-hire with TransAm but is rather set on flatbedding, and not thrilled with the idea of reefers.
We are still waiting on letters from friends to send with other applications that wanted it, but can't afford to wait forever either.
I've heard on here that Maverick has a waiting list, is that just for their CDL school, or would that apply to someone coming in with a CDL also? Also, anybody else with other flatbedding companies (that train you right) mention it please (aware of Passmore, turned down by TMC).

Congrats to Hubby on the 100%, now he has to operate like that everyday from this point on.

the waiting list isnt as long for those with a cdl. But that wait is well worth it. Id say two months tops. I waited almost 3 and Im glad I did.

I only had to wait about 1 month and I needed to get my CDL through Maverick. I was a "roomie" with Stevedb AKA Comatose!

Thanks! I think maybe the waiting list has more to do with where you live. For us, it doesn't matter for now, they turned him down telling him to come back after 6 months experience.

Steve: Serious question. I pass by the Maverick yard in Little Rock all the time and see 40+ trucks in the lot. Are these assigned and just "in" for the day? Or yet to be assigned? It would seem impracticable (is that a word?) to have new trucks sitting there with no drivers.

They sure are nice looking trucks! What's the deal?

Congrats on your husband getting his CDL and the 100%. Just remember we can still learn new things everyday driving a big rig. Good luck in the job search
