Default What are the best truck stops?

Out of the following: T/A, Pilot, Flyin J, Petro and Love's, how would you rank them from best to worst? Why is your #1, best? or would you rather just park on an on-ramp? =)

my list would go...

1) Love's
2) Pilot
3) Petro
4) Flyin J
5) T/A

Little America in Wyoming and Flagstaff

You can tell, they have one thing in common, they are not big chain truck stops

Jolly Truck Stop

All of the Love's I've stopped at on I-40 in Oklahoma were nasty.

There's no doubt, from that post, that you drive for Swift. I am not even sure you are being serious now.

I can say that all of them are the same , nasty, ugly with most of their staff hating to work for a truck stop. Therefore i dont prefer any of them and dont spend much time either with them. When i rest i prefer rest areas, which are much cleaner, some of them extremely nice, line the ones in AL tn ,LA az.The scenery can be quite nice at these locations.

it took you till that post to figure out i drive for swift? my profile picture should been a dead giveaway, not to mention several posts where i say "i drive for swift". So what WHO i drive for....i choose to only frequent truck stops that are fairly familiar, ones who actually have parking set aside for trucks, not just some random lot at ma and pa's truck stop in BFE new mexico, with some extra land on one side that trucks just happen to park in. those are the ones where you could park all by yourself, and end up being boxed in, having to knock on someones sleeper to 'let you out'.

yeah, that can still happen at any of the 5 i've listed, but atleast those drivers use 1/4th their brain half the time to leave some room for the guy they're parking in front of.

and when the need comes up, i do park in rest areas. I actually was at one last night, i-40 just inside TN boarder from NC. what....am i not a trucker till i get mugged parked on an on-ramp because i'm too lazy to actually look up where truck stops/rest areas are at, or dont want to waste time finding and backing into a parking spot?

my list would go...

0) Love's (I don't even bother stopping for their coffee)
0) Pilot (I stop only for coffee at certain times of the day)

1) Petro (Usually good parking and best food of the "eat in" chain t/s's)
2) Flyin J (Food is good, but too expensive)
3) T/A (Food is barely tolerable)

I don't like ANY truckstop that only sells fast food. I might go to Subway on occasion, but I want nothing to do with McDonald's, Arby's, Wendy's, etc.
