oh and one last thing....i have been pulled around once, this was JUST inside New Mexico...forget what interstate (I-29?) but was coming out of Pueblo, headed for Amarillo, and my IFTA sticker was missing, and it was January 3rd. I had the paperwork for the sticker, just no sticker. The lady at Swift said "in lieu of the sticker, this would get you by till you got to another terminal".

Anyways, without hesitation i take in my logbook, permit book and BOLs, so if they wanted to see anything, i had it. Figure if i take everything in, it would show i have nothing to hide....

I-25 Damn talk about taking the scenic route from Pueblo ,CO - Amarillo,TX .

yeah, it was pretty from Pueblo to Amarillo...but i did take a bunch of side roads. Hardly wasnt on any interstate. I almost had a head-on at the split east of Amarillo when you turn off left to go I-40 and take the ramp right to take US287....some dumb gal decided to come down from the airport using the side roads, came to the intersection where i am sure says 'no right turn', but she decided to turn right....STRAIGHT into 2 lanes of east bound traffic. I drove past there again, this time taking I-40 toward OK city....and notice they still havent fixed that corner.

I called them up the next day and said that they needed to put some of those concrete barriers and square off that corner and put a BIG HUGE MONOLITH of a sign that says NO RIGHT TURN.

3 scales. You forgot Dumas.

I heard Boise City liked to do inspections so I never went that way. And, though I haven't checked the miles, I don't think it is shorter.

Of course, I was always coming out of the Valley on 160 (not from Pueblo,) but I think it is shorter to go over Raton on I-25 (was usually closed) and then 64/87 through the Clayton scales (always closed at night when I'd go through,) and bypass Dumas by taking US 385 south to Channing and then TX 354 over to 287. Narrow road, but very little traffic.

Once saw a dead buck in the middle of the road. I think he just died of BOREDOM! :lol2:

Here's another way....The way I go.....I-25 south to north end of Trinidad, exit 15......US 160 east to MM 384,Branson,Co.389....South thru Branson to the tee,(forget the hwy#),right(west) to Folsom,NM,to another tee, left(south) to US 87/64 at Des Moines NM.....East on 87 to Dumas,Tx,287 south to Amarillo.......Only Coop is at Clayton,Nm and it's closed after 4-4:30 PM local....There's a coop 10-12 miles south of Dumas that's almost never open.....I've seen it open once in 8 months.....

I got pulled in on Friday night I was stressed out that they were going to find something wrong with my log book and nail me. They asked if my log book was good, I told them yes, and they never even looked at it  I was so flipping happy  The rest of the inspection went off with out any drama, they were really cool, answered a whole lot of questions I had.

I think 90 % of the people getting nailed to the wall are the ones who go into it with a bad attitude. I just do what Im told dont complane, and off I went, with a new inspection sticker.

On a side note, mabe you should pull around back once when your log book is all nice and in order and ask for a inspection. Then you will not have to worry about them messing with you because you went in and had it done. Makes you look that much better, like a safe driver.
