i also found that watkins shepard and CFI would not take me because of a 60 day or more gap between graduating from school and driving at a job. see, i took a job at ABF and i had only got a chance to work on the docks. when i left there to find a driving job, i ran into that gap problem. frustrating!!!!
luckily, i did end up finding a good job at a small family company doing flatbed work.

i.m.o I would pursue falcon. cause I leased to them a long time ago & talked to lots of co, drivers. i had a real good experience with them. they have a lot of dedicated runs where drivers are home every night or 2-3 times a week. what i liked about falcon was they hauled mainly steel & much of the customers receive 24hrs or late eve. also most steel mills are on the outskirts of a town, you dont usually get tied up trying to navigate in some small town 2 lane rd trying to back in somewhere.

wimpy.... what you want is right here:

http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=30827

When you click the link it will take you to Cyanide's thread here about Superior Carriers and Carry Transit. Keep in mind...that because they pay you for many things that other companies DO NOT pay for.... the miles are not all that important in the grander scheme of things. As we say here.... "Its NOT all about the miles!!"

Both companies are owned by "Superior Bulk Logistics". Page down after it loads and you will find the information about Carry that you are looking for!!

BOL! 8)

Default Found "THE JOB"

I graduated 3 weeks ago and was at the school when a company called looking for "A" student. I was at the right place at the right time. I bring this up, only because many of you have helped me believe that you do Not have to do OTR out of school, so, I want to say thanks for all your help and support.

I was thinking for some time I may have to work for a bottom feeder, but today, after three interviews and many follow up calls, I was hired today and start this coming Monday. It is a local job out of Indianapolis. I work Tuesday-Friday and have Sat-Monday Off. It is the DREAM Job and I am so Damb happy I will not have to do OTR. Pay is awesome for someone right out of school and it will just keep getting better and better.

To those that PM'd me with help and suggestions for companies, thanks for your input and help, even though nothing came out of the inquires, it did help!

So, to conclude this story, YES you can find the killer Job out of school, you just better have a clean A$$ record in every way, be clean cut, and now how to speak intelligently.
