I was almost enrolled in an online school, but I took a minute to let the sales pitch settle, and started looking around for jobs I could actually get if I armed myself with all those professional certifications and credentials. The program was completely above board (Western Governor's University) but the set of keys I would have bought wouldn't have opened any doors around here. I thought I had a good line on a couple of things, but all I found were web sites people's hosting companies hadn't bothered to take down. I made up some good pitches, and got back laughter. "Hire you? Are you crazy? I went broke five years ago!" It looks like the only way out of trucking is to get myself into a financial state where I can afford a 60% pay cut. That's my eventual goal, because I can't keep doing this forever. It's tearing me up. Especially my damn hip. Given the likelihood of figuring out how to live on 40% income though, I may have to see about one of those trucks for handicapped people. At least I enjoy my job at least 2/3 of the time. It's not the end of the world. I just hate not having somewhere else to go, if I should want to.

I am thinking about starting with Schneider's training program but I need to know what to expect out of the training program. I supose my main question is how soon will I be earning a paycheck? Since I will be quitting my job and have limited savings I don't really want to lose my house and truck...soooo....will I start being paid durring team/training driving? I also need to know if I will truly be able to earn what Scheinder is saying aprox 36k-50k first year and 60-80k in years after?? (I'm not trying to add far from home to the mix) I would greatly appreciate anyone's Schneider specific info This forum has already been extreamly helpful!!! everyone seems to have an overwhelming amount of information I made 56K my first year and settled into the pattern fairly well. It was hard to learn. Embarrasing, sometimes. But no one got hurt and nothing was broken BTW, I talked to a Hunt driver last week; now he was a cut above the normal driver, and had lots of experience.......but he told me that JB Hunt was paying him 57 CPM to make his International Paper dedicated run. You can make it....SNI, Hunt. they all pay. They have to.
