What US states have the best/worst roads?
I wanted to ask you guys, the experts, for your opinions on this. Based on road conditions, frequency of construction, poor signage, lack of services/rest areas/truck stops, etc, which US states do you feel have the worst roads, and why? I'll start things off with my opinion:
Best Roads: Texas, Tennessee, Missouri (most of it) Worst Roads: Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Jersey, Michigan So what do you guys think?

Anybody know why the roads around NYC and Long Island are so darn rough? Seems as though the roads are almost as bad as the traffic. I can not stand the Long Island Expressway.

I-40 east of OK City is rougher than a cob. They are always doing construction, but it will knock ya out of the seat.

The long island expressway from exit 22 out east to riverhead exit 70 is actually some of the smoothest roads in new york city... Everywhere else in the 5 bourough is absolutley pathetic tho. Esecially 278 thru queens/brooklyn. Scary dangerous roads..... For me driving nj ny ct md de ma pa..... The worst stretch of road right now is route 78 in new jersey east and west a few miles before the pa toll booth. Horribleeeee and its been like that for a long time, just over the last year tho its turned into a nightmare. I put the hazards on and slow down to 25 miles per hour. I hit my head on the roof once to many times on that stretch
