96 Wide Flatbed vs. 102 Wide-Comments?

If I was only gonna haul coils regionally in a side kit I'd get a 96" x 35' to save weight.

With open trailer the forklift guys will bang your sides more with a 102".

Also my Fontaine 102" has the wide axles - 102" sidewall to sidewall. When tractor tires are at edge of white line the trailer is 3 inches onto line already.

I think that there are advantages to having a 96" wide trailer if you are hauling steel. In fact, I see a lot of them at the steel mills. It can save a little weight. Either trailer can work for you.
