This is why trucking companys can move freight so cheaply. This guy is willing to live in his truck and and work for peanuts. The company does not have to treat you as well as an employee and puts the onus of truck expenses onto your shoulders. Somebody get this guy a sign that reads "WILL DRIVE FOR FOOD"

GMAN thx for your feedback but I think want's hurt me is what on my drive record.
I been trying to get a job for 8 month!! Like I said I can wait for two years for it to come off and then drive. The CO said that 750$ to 900 a week inculds what is all that will be taking a week for all expense and fees for the truck. What was on list on my 1st post. The 06 truck that i'm looking at will be the 750$ a week. The CO said if I don't finish the lease I would lose the 2500$ deposit. AFTER 8 MONTHS OF NO JOBS OFFER!! I hope everthing will work out will post here how ithe lease is going hope not to hear we told you so THX for all the feedback

If he doesnt finish the lease he will lose his $2500 deposit. Somehow I dont think that is all he is going to lose.

Stay away from it dude!!!
The truck payments are outrageous. For 475-525 a week you should be driving the nicest, newest truck on the market.Right now, trucks are cheap and even with a high interest rate you should not go over a $1000 a month payment for one of those trucks.Keep in mind that a truck with 500k miles will start having issues and you'll have to keep up with possible repairs and especially maintenance. Other thing is freight availability. Right now the economy is pretty bad and you will not run to the max. miles at all.I'm an independent, i beat my log quite a bit, just so i can make sure i have a decent reload and not stay 2-7 days sitting around in a place burning my money and fuel.I know it not very legal, but right now without cutting corners you will not survive decently. If you can't find a job, look for something local, even flipping burgers will be more better than what you are about to do. |
