Default American Express

Is there a specific Amex card that gets you that cash back deal for fuel purchases? I heard they just put a limit on the amount of gallons they'll credit you with. What is that limit.

thanks

Amex Simply Business just put a limit on I believe it was 75 gallons or cash equivalent (how they would know that I don't know) it's only for auto gas but they can't tell that either. I get the rebate on truck fuel.

Amex Blue Cash has 5% back but you need to spend I think it is $6500 to start to earn the 5% cash back on fuel and 1.5% on all other purchases. Before the $6500 I think you earn 1%. This is supposed to be for personal purchases only but they can't tell. And this is good up to $50,000 in spending

They have a new card Amex Plum which gives you 2% back on all purchases if you pay your bill within the first 10 days and you spend over $5,000

Chase has a business card that gives you 3% back on fuel and restaurant purchases and a few other I think. I only use this for food purchases and my daily iced coffee (or two )

Double check everything I just said as all of this is off the top of my head but if you want to find a good credit card go here http://www.fatwallet.com/t/52/711457/

Actually that's what I've been doing for the last couple of hours as I don't feel like breaking up my fuel purchases and I don't want to mix personal with business so if I start using Amex Blue Cash then I need to find another card for Mrs. Merrick. Use to be plenty of them but they are getting harder and harder to find. A good one still around is by PenFed which is the Pentagon Federal Credit Union which has good rates for a lot of different things.

I use the chase business card with premier cash rebate, its 3% on restaurants, business supplies, fuel, home improvement stores and building supply stores as well as 1% back on all other purchases, theres also no limit on the rewards, i`ve got my truck and my wifes heavy haul truck under the same corporate umbrella now and we`ve easily hit 6 figures in spending on the card yet our rewards keep racking up.

I was getting 5% off a visa platinum but that went tits up after 7 months

The Chase Business, if it's the same one I have, is a Visa which I can't use at the Flying J.

Also the Drivers Edge card is if I"m not mistaken not a cash rebate card and they have really devalued the Thank You Network points over the last year.

I'm also using the Amex simply cash business card. 5% back on fuel. But like the others have said, the new rule for 75 gallons takes effect in Dec. It sucks to have to split up fuel purchases. I thought I wouldn't mind it, but I do. I'll be shopping around.

That would have worked for me on my last load of onions. I could only put that much in my tanks without being over weight.
