My work does not take me through the scales very often but when they have these things we get the multi agency "gang bang" where all the local commercial and the CHP join up on a truck route and set up a check point. We call it running the gauntlet.

I went through 6 scales this week.
2 of them were closed, 2 of them I got red lighted on prepass in IL, and two I got a green light.

I pity (not really) the guys who shutdown for the week to avoid the inspections...only to find that most states are waiting for them, when they come back next week.

It is all hogwash. Supposedly 10,000 inspectors. Where the hell are these losers the rest of the year?

WV,pulled thru rest area, never even crossed another scale.OH,KY,WV,MD,DE,NJ,NY,CT and MA those 3 days.

I will say those idiots at the scale between Fredrick and Baltimore could close the damn scale once in a while when traffic backs up on the damn freeway for a mile!

A lot of locals b!tch about that scale too. My brother in law is a well driller and he always gets pulled around back for overweight but he has a permit for it. You'd think they'd recognize the truck by now but nope.

I only found one scale open all week, and I was empty so I got waved through without the logbook check, and I am a TMC driver. I was lucky enough to find the scales closed and full every other time i went by.

The reason you saw a lot of TMC trucks at the IL scale is that there are a lot of our trucks through there.

Has anybody else noticed a lot of Western Express trucks being towed away from scales? They do at least one a week here in Maine.
