Default Anyone drive a Western Star?

How do you like them? I don't have one picked out, but I've been thinking about finding one to buy. I like their style and they don't seem to be as expensive as K-dubs or Petes.

I too like them, and the interiors are great. Only thing that has kept me from buying one is the fact that Freightliner now owns them and my best friend is a mechanic at the Gary, IN Freightliner and he said they are not their OWN trucks anymore, meaning that Freightliner mass produces them just like the Cascadia and such. Same Freightliner parts, same crappy quality LOL

If you can find a Pre-2000 WS then go for it, other than that, I'd go Petercar

That's right: Western Star used to be unique when it was made by Canadians, but once Freightliner bought them out, it's pretty much the same Freightshaker only with different hood and fenders. PLUS: unlike Freihtliner it has a STEEL cab, so it's heavier than other trucks.

No, I read a story in the trucking magazine that Western Star trucks are built on the same plant where other FTL trucks are built. When the story was writtin, it was in Oregon. I think they've moved it since then to China or Mexico or something like that
