This doesn't sound right. As someone else mentioned, unless you buy most of your fuel in states that you are not traveling, then your fuel tax bill should not be all that high. I believe the biggest fuel tax I have ever had to pay to date is about $175 and that is for two trucks running. Most of the time it runs less than $100 per quarter. Without seeing how you are doing your tax return there is no way to tell for sure what is going on. We are all just speculating at this point. You may want to fax a copy to the state where you file and ask them to check the form for you. My state will do that for me. |
