I'd have to disagree! When i paid no attention where did i buy, I've had paid about $300 an average. Than, one quarter it was $600 :shock: ...and i learned how to do it! $1,300 seems to be excessive, unless you'll fill up in NJ, and running most of your miles in NY, or Canada... :roll:

That is why I said give or take. Mostly IFTA is set up to give. :lol:

ripp what states are you mostly buying in? What states are you mostly travelling in?

it's possible you're average MPG is too low.

Are you using the IFTA return? It's pretty straight-forward. Sounds like you're not crediting your tax paid on gallons purchased.

This doesn't sound right. As someone else mentioned, unless you buy most of your fuel in states that you are not traveling, then your fuel tax bill should not be all that high. I believe the biggest fuel tax I have ever had to pay to date is about $175 and that is for two trucks running. Most of the time it runs less than $100 per quarter. Without seeing how you are doing your tax return there is no way to tell for sure what is going on. We are all just speculating at this point. You may want to fax a copy to the state where you file and ask them to check the form for you. My state will do that for me.
