Some show weights, some don't. I would not totally rely on the posted weights being accurate all the time. You will need to call the shipper or broker to get all of the particulars. Unless otherwise posted, most will be at or under 45,000 pounds.

They say that they are the largest. I am not so sure. DAT is very large. They have several names that they market their loads under, including Truckersedge, which is for OOIDA members. I think getloaded and internettruckstop are pretty much the same as far as the number of loads. It depends on where you are and where you want to go. It can also vary according to the type of freight you are seeking. If I had to choose between the two, I would probably go with internettruckstop. It doesn't hurt to have a backup.

What are your thoughts on DAT in the scheme of things?

You get your own customer base by knocking on doors. It takes time to build a good customer base. You also don't want to over extend with customers. The worst thing you can do with a new shipper is to get their business and not be able to handle the business.

From a legal standpoint, you will need a minimum of $750,000 liability and $5,000 cargo. But most shippers and brokers require a minimum of $100,000 of cargo. Some will also require $1MM liability. There are also some shippers who may require additional cargo coverage, but unless you have a regular shipper who wants additional coverage, I would stick with $100,000. When I hauled cars, I had $250,000 cargo coverage. If you get into the really high dollars cars you may need more. Some over sized loads require more coverage. For instance, one shipper I know just decided they want their carriers to have $1 million in cargo.

I think my money is better spent elsewhere.

Musta done something wrong. DAT Connect is currently showing that 456 dry van loads originating within 50 miles of Chino were posted within the last 24 hours. Some of those will be duplicates.
There is a company in Chino that ships cattle feeder gates to Texas, NM, AZ. I went there once to get a load back to Texas. I don't remember much but I scaled out at a small place 2 blocks up the street.
