Driving 140,000 miles a year, the difference between 6 mpg and 6.1 mpg with fuel at $3.50/gal = $1340!
...so a KW T-2000/Columbia saves its owner $13,400 yearly/each 140,000 mi. over a shoe box design? ...will SHOE BOXES go the way of the dinasour in the near/far future?

Hey hey now, don't talk about Freightliners like that. I'd seen Petes and Kw's that were JUNK!!!!!!!!! The key to getting good fuel milage is watching that right foot. Keep it at 60-65 and you'll make money!

I find it so much more profitable to buy one and run it until you've squeezed every bit of good out of it. All 3 of mine are '97 models. They are maintained meticulously and run very well and look great. I have a FL Classic and 2 T-600, cat 475, cummins 525 and Detroit 500. Funny thing is, they ALL get 6 mpg. Splain that one to me, if the aeros are supposed to do so much better than the hoods. We could do much better than that, I expect, as the T-600's I have governed at 90mph and no gov. in my Classic.

I don't get over 6 in my T600. I think I need a fairing.
And driving 60-65 is fine unless you run west like I do. From the IA border to the CA border its all 99% 75mph.
