C H Robinson
Jones
Schneider
JB Hunt
Mason Dixon
Universal AM Can

These are a few more that offer quick pay. Most of the larger brokers offer some sort of quick pay option. Some of them charge up to 8% for the quick pay. If the broker charges more than 2% I will usually just factor it if I don't want to wait for my money.

When you contact a broker about a load for the first time, it is usually a good idea to ask them how long it takes for you to get your money. Most will tell you about their quick pay, if it is available. Some brokers make a lot of money with their quick pay fees. For instance, the DOD pays within 24-72 hours. Some brokers will either take 30 days to pay or charge a big quick pay fee. It costs them 1 1/2% to get their money that quickly, yet they may charge up to 8% to the carrier and not pay for about a week. Total Quality Logistics charges a high discount rate and will also charge about $20 or $25 to register a Comcheck. It should not cost more than about $2.00 to register a comcheck, if that much. I rarely haul for TQL because of the way they do business. But if I do and I want my money sooner, I factor their business. I don't factor all my loads. You give up a lot of money over the course of a year if you factor all of your loads. Some brokers, such as Landstar and CH Robinson charge 1 1/2% for their quick pay. When a broker charges 4% or more, I consider that as a negative when I am looking for a load. I NEVER pay a broker that much of a discount unless I add it to the rate when I accept the load. I would rather give the money to the factor.

that explains a lot gman I register with landstar a month ago, I have not houled a load for them jet.

the first time I called for a load it was with their LKS agency It was a load from denver, CO to albuquerque, NM,
they quotedme 1100 for the load and check if it was still there she came back and said the load was still available if I want it.
I said yes, But when she found out I was from land star she got another lady on the phone.
Who toldme that because I was a landstar carrier she couldnt giveme the load becouse she would be double brockering the load.
so she gaveme the LS broker number .
It took me a couple of seconds to call the LS agent when he finaly answer
he said the load had been taken. So I'dont know what to make out of it

So now I register with CHRW the good thing is they have more loads than land star but their rate comes out to no more than 1.20 a mile.

same rate as landstar that $1100 was the only good load they have. I've been calling landstar for loads since and their rate comes to $1.20

So I,m still here in CO waiting for a load that pays decent.
Do'nt think is going to happen and I cant, stay here waiting for aver so I figure I take a load down east and stay there for a couple of weeks ,
but even that is hard to find.

Freight is usually cheap coming out of Colorado, although I have gotten good paying loads out of that area. Sometimes you need to head West to get a better rate to go East. There are sometimes when there are loads going to other western states which pay pretty well. It takes a lot of time and effort to find decent loads out of Colorado. I have often deadheaded out of there rather than take a cheap load.

CH Robinson has good paying loads, as does Landstar. They both also have cheap loads. I have never hauled a load for either for $1.20/mile as a carrier. Some of their offices or agents have decent paying loads. They are more willing to give a better rate to those who have done a good job for them previously. I am not sure what to make of the Landstar agent you mentioned. They do have some loads reserved for their BCO's. Some accounts will not allow them to broker their freight to other carriers. They also have a different rate for carriers and BCO's.
