Funny you bring that up, last night I was reading the FMCSA book and part of my driver qualification file must contain a road test not given by myself. It seemed liked there might be a way around it but I'd rather not take the chance. I'm trying to get started in a few months. If Rev hasn't done so already Doghouse if you'll sign mine I'll sign yours.......... Geez, feel like I'm back in school......
Ummm..don't the reg's stipulate that you must be signed off by a "Qualified" tester?? As in...a tester whom has paid the state a fee, to be "Qualified"??

The DOT officer told me that I could go to any truckstop and find a driver with more than 2 years on their CDL, take the driver for a ride and sign the document,..and send it it.

Let me also add that I've had my CDL since 1999 and that was why I only needed another driver to sign it. If I had just gotten my CDL, then it would of have to have been a qualified tester.

Last time I looked (a year ago), the Fed regs stated that a carrier could accept a CDL as proof of a driver's ability, in lieu of a driving test. That's all we had for our audit. Maybe things have changed. Or maybe the inspector doesn't know the regs

I hope that's the case, because I'm clearly unqualified.

All I know is what I was told, and she specifically said I could have another driver do it,...so thats what I did. Now,...that said, it wouldn't be the first time I got bad info from a cop,...so we'll se how this pans out. If Rev and I get thrown in the clink,....he can start a fire while I make a run for it.

You've seen my signature. If they can figure out who I am, then they deserve to throw me in the slammer.

I wasn't pulled into any scales, they were all closed. The traffic had to be stopped on a 4 lane busy road for me to blind side backup into a slot just big enough for me to fit into.
What town did you deliver to?

Anyway, I did a Qc load a while back and my permit service told me that my business needed to be registed with the Quebec govrnment in order for me to do business (a.k.a. deliver) there. Surpise, surprise they were willing to do it for $300. I went in without being registered but I wonder what would have happened if I got pulled in.
