A solo averaging $2 running 3000 miles a week is doing just fine. Pays a decent salary and shows profit for the business. Can one make more? Sure. One could also make the same driving fewer miles. Then again, those are lifestyle choices. We could certainly make more than we do...then again, I wouldn't go 2 years without a vacation either. Currently planning our second one of the summer 8)
And $1300/mo for property taxes? Your property would have to be worth well over a million to pay that here...guess that's what you get in place of sales tax, eh?

$6,000 a week on 3,000 miles has been the minimum lately. I've run LTL's on top of a full paying load for over $10,000 a week a few times.
Oops, the $1,295 includes $400 for my condo fee also. I don't have a maintenance envelope. I put all my money into the bank and really don't step back and say, geez, look at all this money, I think I'll go out and buy a new car. I do not spare any cost at the maintenance of my truck and trailer and don't push it with tires, leaks or anything else. Well, nap time is over. Time do finish off my 600 for the day.

If you have more than $2000 left over, that's another $0.70 per mile. Before you've paid any bills, insurance, permits, plates, maintenance, repairs, food, etc, you've already used up $1.41 of your $2.00.

dunno guys, you must be doing something wrong? I'm going on 2 years November 19th and doing great. I've never had to factor and never plan too. I have now over $2,000 left over a week after all my personal bills, taxes, medical insurance, fuel and all other costs associated with the truck. My insurance is paid in full for another year also. I don't put aside for maintenance, I just pay for it when needed.
All I can say is you must have some huge bills on other things and if so, then your telling half truths by leading people to believe unless you do what you do you can't make it. I can see Rev's point. He has a truck payment to make, fire extinguisher replenishment payments and what, about $8,000 in APU research? So I'm just guessing that there must be more behind the story then what you post. You all have my figures and I've been more than open with everything I've done, paid for and my personal bill history. I really don't plan on getting a new truck. You can never go wrong continuing to fix something that is in excellent shape and this baby will do me fine for many years to come. I think it's getting close for a cruise in my future. Almost 2 years and no vacation so I'm ready. I know what i am doing wrong, I'm not working hard enough. I did,t work in Dec, Jan, 3 weeks in may and just took off 25 days and went to Ca and Las Vegas, I figure at the rate I run it would take me 2 weeks to make a 3000 mile trip as i only averaged 1442 miles a week last year.If i could get my wife a job I could slow down some more. by the way the Hell's Angles you saw weren't going to Sturgis they were on the way to The Testicle Festival by Missoula, had you not wastes all your time faxing and tarping you could have made it to the Sunday festivities.
Missoula County Sheriff Mike McMeekin also advises that the Hells Angels are in the area on vacation, and so they should be treated just like any other tourist who comes to Missoula.
Miller Lite sponsors some adult entertainment, and without going into details, if you are a girl who likes to collect bead necklaces, well, Rock Creek Lodge is the place for you. There's "No Panty Wednesday Night", always a hit with the biker crowd—trade your panties for a free drink. There's also pig wrestling, oil wrestling, a bull-chip throwing contest, and the sometimes impromptu, but seemingly every-hour-on-the-hour, wet tee contest.
Be sure and put this on your calender for next year. See you there.

At the least I make $6,000 gross a week. It takes $2,220 in fuel leaving $3,774 left over. Everyone is a big boy so you can divide it up any way you like.
I've had 3 weeks so far in the last few months that I did right around $10,000 for 3,000 miles. You can do the math yourself also. My insurance is $5,500 for liability and cargo which I pay in full and just did. So, will Rev is away calculating his little brain out. My trip meter turned 600 miles for the day and guess what appeared 5 miles away? Little America. Just had a half roasted chicken and coleslaw. It's 90 by their thermometer and I've been running just the roof top AC and it's 69 at the moment. My kind of cool. That leak isn't leaking any more. Big surprise. Killer hills out here for sure. Was lucky to have a tail wind which helped a lot going up. Went over the weigh in motion and got a green light then filled up here so I should be good to go before hitting another scale although I'm not over axle so I shouldn't have a problem. Just a little over gross. I should make it home late Thursday then I'm hoping to get right out Monday or Tuesday if I can. I wasn't planning on coming home so soon but whenever there is a load going back home, I'll take it since they are far and few between. The truck still hasn't used any oil at all and I've forgotten how many miles since they fixed my leak but it's at least 6,000 or more. I'll probably get ready for the winter when I head home this time. Make sure everything is in my truck for the bad weather and get the old shovel out and tied to the headboard. In like a lamb, out like a lion. Fall is coming soon and bad weather hits the mountains a lot faster out west so best to be prepared since I probably won't come back home until September. I'll be passing by Iowa80 on the way home so some goodies should be in order. Nothing particular in mind but I need to spend some money on something. I'll probably order an Espar unit also but not sure I want to install it myself although I've read the instructions and it doesn't sound too hard. On second thought, I think I'll have it done by a pro. I don't like fires!!!

Heavy D...maybe you mentioned it somewhere but what sort of freight do you run to get those low miles and high rates?
