NotSteve; WHAT did you say this lady does for a living??   She's a broker that works out of her home. I ended up getting rid of her. She started asking me for money all the time which she hadn't earned. She also asked me to buy her a car and a laptop!!!! I kept telling her to keep it professional but she was dragging me into her personal life and I finally had enough. Okay, so she works out of her home, and "doing you" has turned out to be so lucrative...... Sooooo...... just WHAT is she "brokering"??

I got my Grandparents a black Yamaha golf cart with silver flames, chrome wheels, slicks, polished aluminum ground effects,an oogah horn, and changed the gearing so it goes 25mph instead of 15mph,...they love it. It's the baddest cart in the park.

Well, I've been sitting at home now for 3 days. Over 100 loads around me and only a handful of available trucks and no phone calls.
There are at least 15 loads per day from Mass to Amsterdam Ohio that weigh 45,000 pounds and pay $625 on 665 miles. I called up for the heck of it and the guy told me right off the bat, you don't want this. It's trash and all the big companies like Swift and such grab them every day for that price. I told the guy I was just curious. He said all those loads on the boards for real cheap money get taken every single day by the big carriers. They want their trucks out of there at any price. There was many loads I could have taken for $1.40 and a few at $1.50. You can try to negotiate all you want and it does no good. You say no thanks then 10 minutes later the load is gone. So anyways, I got a load going to Michigan for $2.05 which I'm surprised since that's a high freight area and those destinations usually pay even less. They had one load a day posted and by the time I got on the phone I got the last one leaving on Friday. I just checked the Michigan area and there are over 400 loads heading out so I may try to keep in the crap for a while and see how it goes. Not sure I can put up with the traffic and rest. I got a check put on hold from a Canadian load I hauled a month ago. Not only is this a Canadian trucking company but their bank is in another country. They verified the check is good but it's going to take 4 to six more weeks before the money is actually in my account!!! I don't mind. My first thought was this was my first bad debt and it's a big one, $7,800 bucks! Took me 2 days to find out from the bank what was going on. Put my snow shovel on the truck today. I think my next trip out West will see some bad weather.
