Default Dead Heading ?

Are you required to stop at port of entry when dead heading with no trailer?

Personal vehicle,Yes,you can bypass unless there is a chick in there that is lonely and looking for company. :lol:
Commercial vehicle,which includes any truck weighing over 26,000lbs AND bobtailing tractor with no trailer,NO,you cannot bypass unless you have prepass with a green light. Especially in NM. :lol:

if you don't get a green lite on the pre-pass you stop.........

You should change the title to "bobtailing". Deadheading usually involves an empty trailer :wink:

By Port of Entry I assume you mean a Customs booth and EZpass has nothing to do with Customs that I am aware of.

You do NOT want to be buzzing through customs without stopping.........even if it's on your bicycle.

Actually..we'uns means the "scales" (POE) that each state sees fit to erect along side the various roadways down here Rank old friend!! aye!!!

minor point EZpass has nothing to do with a port of entry EZpass is used for tolls mostly in the NE. you are also incorrect a port of entry has nothing to do with customs, a port of entry is (in most states) the first weigh station when enter a state. and some but not all use pre-pass.

CA has point of entry first then the scales a few miles down the road.
