The Tennessee(and surrounding states)area is an area that I've never seen. I have always pictured it as big mountains, with lots of trees. I often wondered,if they have a Davy Crockett monument,or an attractiion for tourists. He is a hero in Texas. :P

Keep it up Steve! The writings are interesting. Even though, you have had some rough spots in your driving, you are seeing a lot of country. I told my wife that when we are older, and when we have kids, and they are grown,we should drive around the country. She said that it would be nice, after we retire.(I left the "husband and wife team" part out.) :P

I agree 100%!!

I used to carry food on the truck with me. If somebody came up to me asking for money, because they were hungry, I'd offer them some food. A can of "Spam", tuna fish, canned chicken, or some Vienna Sausages, along with some bread, a sandwich bag of chips, a piece of fruit, some plastic table wear, a napkin, and a can of soda, even an inexpensive little can opener if it was needed..

It didn't cost much, and hey, if they really were hungry, I was glad to help!

Some were truly hungry, and they accepted it graciously, and that was fine!! Others would continue to campaign for cash, then walk away in a huff when I'd turn them down.

Need money for gas?? "Sure, just bring your car around, and I'll buy you some gas"!!! Usually, the answer was, "Well, can't you just give me some cash??"

Answer: "No!!"

Tennessee is a beautiful state. We have mountain, plenty of trees, parks and lakes. We also have a park named after Davy Crockett. He was born in Northeastern Tennessee near what is now Greeneville, TN. I don't recall whether there is a monument of him. Other than West Tennessee it is pretty hilly. The terrain is much different from Texas. I think you would enjoy the visit. We have a lot of history. Tourism is the number one industry in some areas of the state. COME ON DOWN!!!

Tennessee is a truly beautiful state!! You really get to experience all four seasons, and each season has a feeling and a taste all it's own!!I've spent a considerable amount of time there, and loved it. For a while, it looked as if I might be moving my family up there. Sadly, the urban sprawl ha taken it's toll, but when you get out of Memphis, The Guitar City, or Knoxville, it's absolutely awesome.

St. Jude's Hospital is not only a magnificent hospital for children, it is also a fine testament to the way our health care systen could be, and should be!!

Stopped for a coffee break. I'm not sure where the hell I am. Seems like I've been driving all day, oh wait, I have!!! Up then down, up then down, brake, gas, jake, brake, gas, jake. Every tourist sign has a blue masked figure on it.

Ok, ok....I did figure out something today. The speed limit is 65 and I was doing it and the traffic was heavy. Some truck or car would be doing less than that and I would slow up then back on the gas. Go down a hill and have to brake then back up the hill and in back of someone even heavier than me. Then I realized that if I did 63 I never hit any traffic. Everyone was passing but for 25 miles the group of trucks I was running with was only 1/4 mile in front of me. Such little progress for all that aggravation.

Hey Rev, on those Crossfire thingies, do I have to order the optional bent hose end for each one to fit on the valve stem that's facing inward?

Mine came with one bent hose (which goes on the outside tandem), and one straight hose (which goes on the inside tandem). Both of your valve stems SHOULD be facing outward. If they aren't, it would be easy enough to have the valve stem turned around by a tire shop.

In the picture above, the left side would go on your inside tandem, and the right side would go on your outside tandem. The mounting bracket goes on your hub (just take off one hub bolt, put the bracket on, and put the hub bolt back on).

Just make sure you get the right PSI crossfire for your application. More than likely, you are running 100 PSI in your tires. I needed 110 psi for my trailer tires, because I am running a much smaller tire.

My tires all say 110 psi but they are pumped up to 100 psi so I'm not sure which ones to get???
