Hey Doghouse,

Are you going to post the pictures of your truck and solar panels etc?
Just curious. Would like to see them.

I had a guy call me last week , and he claims that they don't care how many times you use them, you don't even have to use them at all, but if you do,..they take 2% the first week and pay you, and the add a point evey week till they get paid.
Just a thought. seems like a good idea for a new OO just to use them for start up money. Till the check start rolling in.

There are wide differences in factors. Some want you to commit to sending them a minimum amount each month. Others want a minimum fee each month. I like the ones who are non recourse for a flat fee. I don't use a factor all the time, but it is a good way to check out a broker and see how they pay if your funds are limited. There are a few who will do the non recourse. The fees are higher, but you never need to worry about something being charged back. There is one I know who charges 5%. You send them the bills in a Trip Pak envelope. They get them the next day and release the funds to you, which means that you have your money either the next day or second day from the time you dropped the bills in a Trip Pak. They take their 5% or what ever their fee is out and deposit the balance in your account or give you a comcheck, etc., If you go with a factor who doesn't do non recourse the fees will be lower, but the could charge back the money to you if the shipper or broker fails to pay in a specific time frame. The longer the account takes to pay, the higher the percentage. In either situation, I suggest using it only until you can build your cash reserves. It is best to operate on your own money.

Yep.Take Serbie's advise and polish the truck. I sent you some darn good polish. I have even better now. I can fix you up with the best polish money can buy after you use what I sent you.
Take a breather at home for the holiday.

Out of 4 major shippers in my area we use exclusively, 3 of them have shut down for the week. The 4th one is having trouble finding enough trucks to cover their loads. They thought that with everyone else shutting down the drivers would be eager to pick up their loads and work on the 4th, they were wrong.

Ya, maybe but I can't believe the whole place shuts down for a 1 day holiday. I know lots of people who only get one day off. I don't have enough background yet but my guess it's always like this on a Monday where the brokers have all week to move something. I'm going to hold off calling and see what happens as the week goes on.

I would be I know I wouldn't enjoy myself. I would feel too guilty about not being ready to move. I already took my week off and I'm ready to roll.

I use it once in a while but boy, polishing is a major pain. Some of these people at the truck stops work there azz off for hours on my truck for $50.
