Yup, enough of that, right now I'm holding a load hostage for C.H. Robinson. They screwed up big time and dragging there feet with my contract so I'm not going to deliver. Maybe I'll write what went on in a few days.

I haven't hauled anything for CH robinson yet and judging by what I have been hearing maybe I should avoid them at all costs? Then again you can't believe everything you hear,or in this case, read.

Well, I got my paperwork straightened out REAL quick this morning and delivered my load. I've decided not to post what happened because there are just too many of you bone heads on here so I'll let you all fight amongst yourselves.
I will tell you this, holding a load hostage gets results. Calling the customer and telling them what's going on gets even more results especially when they agree with you. So.....I head out early this morning for my drop off and one thing leads to another with construction in the back roads of Virginia. Next thing I know I'm in down town someplace at a light and a big sign in front, NO COMMERCIAL TRUCKS. I take a right and pull over. I check out my GPS and bring up Streets on my laptop but this road will lead me out into the middle of nowhere. So I pick up the phone and call the police and talk to the dispatcher. I tell her where I am and she tells me to go straight then first right and it will bring you back onto a different road. So I do and bingo, I'm at a dead end with barriers closing the street. Now I'm freaked out on a residential street so I have coffee of course. After I calm down I call the police again and it's a different dispatcher. She has a fit because the other girl really didn't know anything about the town. They send a cruiser. I tell them I just don't want this to escalate into something worse. They thank me for calling them then block the street so I can back all the back then they lead me out of town and to the correct street. They mention something about Walter in the DPW and probably forgetting to put up all the detour signs. Second time I've called the police and they have helped me out 100% of the time. So once again I'm in a good freight area and the phone rings non stop with loads heading back to my home town. I take the first one at a real good rate and I load up in the morning then head for home. It's a load of potting soil going to a flower company. Talk about buying in bulk. So all in all, everything turned out fine and I'll be on my way home in the morning. I can deliver any time I want next week so that's cool. I should be home on Friday and will probably deliver on Monday. |
