So what did you tell the guy from CH? I know what I would have said.......
"Sure, we do that all the time, but after I get permits and a specialized trailer, I'll need $_ _ _ _. _ _ . Tell your customer, it will be delivered Tuesday and not to worry about the details." My experience is that they don't know what rates to charge for these loads and they just want the comfort of knowing it's in good hands. Seriously Steve, it's time you got rid of that skateboard.

hate it when C H calls with cheap crappy loads. They actually have the nerve to get pizzed when you turn their outrageous offers down.

I don't know how much CH was paying for the load. Three different brokers from CH called yesterday about the same load.
I also had a small problem with one of the brokers who I've hauled 4 loads for. They usually pay in less than 30 days but my last load took them a little over 60 to pay and I had to call a few times. I got the old check is in the mail routine but it wasn't. I'm debating if I should post the 60 day pay on the load boards. If I can't find something to get out of NH I may haul some of that copper again so I can get to PA. I only got $1.30 from Ma to Pa but got $2.00 from Pa to Wy so it averaged out to $1.82 per mile for the whole trip.

The nature of rubber Return to index Automotive tires are made from synthetic rubber derived from petroleum, the development of which was inspired by interest in improving on the performance of natural rubber. That was from D A's link posting. Here in lovely Southeast Texas, Goodyear has a tire plant, just off I-10, west of Beaumont. Firestone has a plant here in Orange, off FM1006. Aside form those 2 company's, there are a dozen more that make different blends of plastic. The company I work for, has a plant in Beaumont, that makes synthetic rubber, which is used for everything from tennis Shoes, to garbage cans, to coolant hoses for automotive use (Radiator & heater lines). The company plant in Orange makes resins for automotive use also...don't ya love the wood-grain paneling in your PT Cruiser? In the Houston area, the company plant's make vinyls, paints, and LCD display components (the liquid for computer monitor screens..and the film that is applied to computer components). Which paint do you prefer for you truck? DuPont or PPG? The PPG plant in Westlake LA, is situated to receive feedstocks from the ConocoPhillips refinery on the other side of I-10. My point..all the resins I mention, as well as the Liquid Crystal Display, are petroleum based. You take Bayer aspirin? Bayer has a huge complex in Baytown TX, off FM1405. Everything from salt, to Herbicides, to plastic resin, comes out of that plant. Sorry to interrupt Steve! Keep up the Postings!! Oh yeah ....Great choice for air lines...just be sure and have the crimping done properly!!

Sorry but I have been doing this at a very casual pace for the time being. I am making enough to pay my bills and have a tidy sum saved up already. I plan to start being serious about this starting in the Spring. I'll tell you one thing though. I don't think anyone could live on what I've been running unless your like me. Single, truck and trailer paid for and no bills. A few more months and I'll start posting some figures when I run full time.
