My detroit did 1.2 million. Had to replace a cracked head at 780k, but that was the driver i had on it. leaking rad hose and he didnt give a damn. put on a detroit head and detroit turbo at that time. both were a total pos. Rebuilt it myself and has 100k on it now. I did the head and turbo myself (i have a machine shop) and used oem detroit parts. Total cost, about 4k. I love my detroit.

It is amazing how long these engines will go. Have a friend with 1.4 million on his DD 60 now and he runs it every day. Never been into.

Worked for an LTL line for a few years, they had numerous DD60 and N-14 cummins in service with 1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5 million on them. And only serviced them every 25,000 miles. :roll:
