Does Everyone Need A Good Co-Driver?
I am a Illinois company truck driver with 15 months experience. I have driven Columbia Freight-liners, Freight liner Classic XL's, Volvo's, and Internationals, for such companies as; Western Express, Werner Enterprises, Covenant Transport, and Super Service Inc. I have had four accidents within the last four years with no injuries or fatalities on my DAC. The reason why I am here, is because, several truck companies decided that I am unemployable due to my job history. A friend recommended this website forum to find work as a co-driver with a Owner Operator. Regional or Over The Road in fine with me. In spite of my job history, I am a hard worker, I give a 110% to every task, and I can be a great asset to you. For interested parties, I can be contacted here. Thanks and have a great day.

You better ask yourself just how good a friend, this person is. I am surprised the hammer has not fallen on you already. This can be a tough crowd, with the information you just posted.

4 companies in 15 months? 4 accidents in 4 years? Methinks the combination of the both is likely the reason you're having such a difficult time. Most O/O's have even MORE STRINGENT insurance requirements than the mega-carriers that are (in a lot of cases) self-insured an can take on a "high risk" new driver. Congrats on not injuring or killing anyone - I assume by that statement that the accidents in question were preventable/at faults? Best of luck anyway (as yer likely gonna need it, or a miracle)... I hope you are pulling our leg on the accidents. Even one accident would make it more challenging to find a good job. I am guessing that you lost your job after each accident? Four carriers and four jobs? Carriers look for those with a good work and driving history. With the depression there are more drivers from whom to choose and carriers can be more selective. Most look for no more than 3 jobs in a 2 years time frame. The fewer jobs the better.
Independents will likely not be able to insure you if your accidents appear on your MVR. Another thing that may make it more difficult is your lack of experience. Many smaller carriers and independents require a minimum of 2 years driving experience due to insurance conditions. That many accidents tell prospective employers that you are careless and don't pay attention. That has the potential of a major accident and lost revenue. Four jobs in just more than a year tell prospective employers that you job hop and may not be reliable or dependable. I think you have an uphill fight on your hands. You could continue trying to get with a smaller carrier or independent who doesn't check with DAC. New employers are required to check your last 3 years work history. If you want to continue to drive a truck you might check to see if you can drive a local dump truck. One other thing you might do is go back to school and take a driver refresher course.
