Yes I have thought of getting a room if infact the loads justify it. On the otherhand If I were deadheading from home to BG and back each day, it would be near the same cost as staying overnight but more hours and stress. The hours might bite me a bit too. Anyway I will just have to see
what is better.

Finally got hooked up with Copart. I will be getting loads starting monday, was told that I will get a bunch because they were behind with all this ice we have had here in the past couple of days. I was also told I am getting the max rate , I was so happy I didn't even ask what that means , I assume it is more that I what I posted earlier . Also I get a 25 ct fuel surcharge ( does that sound right) again my head was spinning and Ed talks so fast ( he's from Boston , I,m from NC ) I didn't get to ask about that either. I was actully more concerned about the package and didn't even expect to talk about actual loads. They are checking right now to see if they can overnight me some checks. These checks are to pay the body shops or other places their fees . Also I am suppose to get keys for their ( Copart) gate.

Good for you Darin. For your area, 25 cpm on the fuel surcharge is ok.
OOIDA has a chart for learning how to figure the FSC on their website.

Good luck with the start up at CoPart.

I just meant that copart was the biggest pain in the butt stuff I hauled. I don't think I'd go back and deal with that salvage at $77 per car. Too much waiting on the copart guys and securing loose parts. Yuck. I do hear that copart pays timely and that is a big plus today.

I still say hit the auto auctions and make yourself known. Car dealers are trash people, but there's money to be had there and most of it is just load and go. (once you find that run of the mill car in a crowd of 200 more just like it and it actually has air in the tires and starts). Hey, it could happen.

Thanks Bandit. I will be leaving more cards at dealers. The one dealer I did haul for was very nice and paid on the spot but I get what you are saying about dealers. I had a dealers license at one time ( hauled my own cars) and saw first hand how they tend to be. One thing I can say about Copart , is they can load you fast , hope they can unload fast as well.
