Fuel Tank Leak...
I was advised that I have a small fuel tank leak. This leak only occurs when the tank is full. I was advised that it appears the rubber mount under the metal strap may have come loose or wac cut and the strap is rubbing against the tank.
Is there anything that one could buy to stop the leak, or would that tank have to be repaired via welding? I called for a price quote on a new fuel tank...$1,000 Thanks Neckster

My truck has a tiny hole under the strap like you have. I put some expoxy tank repair on it 5 years ago and it still doesn't leak. You'll probably find more than one corroded spot under the strap. Clean everything spotless with a wire wheel and wash it with acetone. Make sure the fuel is below the holes and go to town. Put the strap on while it's curing and it'll help push it into the corroded sport. I find 3" tie down strap material works good to protect the tank from the steel strap. On a Pete thats just about the right width.
