Your fuel is low.... figure 5mpg divided by the national average....it should be around .60 a mile right now.

Ok I redid everything now that I have some real figures to play with. Any thing that you see wrong, or that could be changed let me know.

Thats for another used truck, either 3, 4, or 5 years, or more down the road. Since trucks deprecates so much in there first 2 years I could get a decent 2 to 3 year old truck at a decent price, and another decent used trailer if the one I get falls apart.

If both at the time need to be replaced then I will still have a good down payment and a low amount to finance.

Your latest number is pretty much exactly what I estimate my costs at. I expect you to have lower costs than me because we have drivers that pay ZERO attention to fuel mileage. If you bulid a business model around $1.44 + you should be safe.

It ain't pretty.

Now that you have all these figures. Imagine working for .90c to $1.10.
You can clearly see that even a $1.40 will catch up to you and bite you in the a$$. :?

Now the question is, how easy is it to get freight for $2.00 a load?

Even the $1.70 that Steve says he averages, with this model, he'd be paying himself $0.19 per mile.
