Good Article:Broker’s Are Getting Their Due
Found this quite interesting about brokers, load boards and todays market.
Big Swings In Trucker Load Boards Mean Broker?s Are Getting Their Due - GLG News "In other words, freight that actually hits the boards is generally the least desirable (better known as crap freight). Over the last couple years, the available freight versus capacity has resulted in a better deal for brokers and a less so for truckers. Not only have rates been pushed down, but also full fuel surcharge has not been passed through in its entirety."

This is something that we have known, or at least suspected, for some time. I have spoken with one of the major brokerages this week and the guy told me that they were having some difficulties getting trucks in some areas. Rates have edged up slightly, but I would not hold my breath right now.

Let them pay!
That's all i have to say.Freight rates are overall higher out of AZ compared to other times of the year. The big brokers will have to really pay when they want my truck.Simple as that. There is still room for higher freight rates especially as the produce season starts for summer time. Returning back from the east coast is still a hassle though. It seems freight isn't as plentiful and still around $1 a mile.
