Headed back out on Jan. 5th and have been playing around in Texas. I know you're running up north in the snow and cold and just want you to know I too have had it rough down here with all the "Sun Storms"!!!!! It has been in the 70's & 80's with cool breezes down here........but don't worry as I am a trooper and will press on  Will probably head home for some much needed rest this weekend :rofl::rofl:

Hey Devil,

Just thought I would share this link with you. Not sure if you participate in the TRICARE health care system, but if you do this has some interesting "Options" that are being proposed to the President Elect in order to "trim the fat" in order to save money.

For those that do not have access to military health care it also proposes changes to Medicare, Medicaid, Childrens Heath Care...all kinds of stuff.

Congressional Budget Office - Budget Options, Volume 1: Health Care

You can GOOGLE Congressional Budget Office, too. Its a .PDF file about 2.7 megs in size, titled: Budget, Options, Volume 1: Health Care

If you want PM me your email and I will send you the original email we got from our Departmental Masterchief.

Not trying to take this post off target...just a Brother passing on some info.

Yeah I have Tricare. I'm having trouble downloading it where I currently am so I'll have to check it out when I get home.

After running ALL week long and battling the warm temps with cool breezes and "sun storms" in Texas , I am home for the weekend. Funny thing is that Texas is historically a bad place as far as rates go. Typically the rates are decent coming in but suck after that. Yet here I am getting good rates running all around Texas and getting home on the weekends. I am making just a little less than when I was with Lone Star, but am not even working half as hard

I will spend the weekend here at the house and then head out Monday with 2 loads so far lined up back to back.

DD has gone into hiding, he's afraid to get one here with some of us stranded in the deep-freeze, he thinks we'll siphon off some of his indian summer warmth. I don't pity him one little bit being stuck down there in the 70's Texas while we sit here at -31 trying to keep these kerosene burners running :moon: . I hope he has had to put full tarps on every single load he has hauled this week

Yeah the sun storms have been hell on me. Actually they did take a little toll on me Monday night. I was shut down in Sealy and the temp was about 43 degrees when I went to sleep so no need to idle the truck. Well I left the upper window curtains open and about 2 am I awoke with a massive headache and freezing my you know what off. I started the truck up and noticed the outside temp was 30. By the morning, I could feel my head and chest was congested . Over the next couple of days it just got worse. I ended up DH'ing home from Alvin, TX Thursday and basically have been pumping my body with meds and sleeping/sweating it out up until this morning (Saturday). I'm still feeling like crap but can tell I am getting better. Being sick, especially on the road really sucks, but the bright side to it this time for me is that it has prevented me from smoking for the past 3 days and for me that is a huge step in quitting for good!!:smokin:

DD I just read this entire thread tonight.

Great post with some really good info. Gave me some good perspective on a company I was currently considering because I think the OTR bug is in me. I just miss it.
