Wow.....a lot has changed with you all since the last time we chatted. I hope that the change is positive and you all are doing well. I've been here at Landstar now for about 4 months and I have zero regrets and I'm still keeping my head above water (knock on wood) in this horrible economy. I wish you all the best of luck and please don't be a stranger.

It's that time again for an update.......

after spending a little over a week at home drinking mass quantities of beer with "broncrider1" it was time to get back to work. Broncrider1 headed NW to SLC on Saturday and I headed SW on Monday. I picked up a set of "stage one rocket" racks heading to Cape Canaveral AFB, FL. The trip went smooth with the exception of me feeling like every 100 miles was a million. Guess that's what happens when you take too much time off.

I made my drop Wednesday morning and then headed down to the TA in Vero Beach. I spent the remainder of the day basking in the sun wearing my tight speedos...... Just kidding.

I knew that getting out of Florida was going to be a pain in the you know what when I booked the load. But it was paying decent and after drinking up all my money, I had to do something. Well luckily for me it turned out not to be too bad. I picked up an LTL that is heading to SLC, UT for with the rate of a truckload. I normally don't like LTL's but since this one was paying like a TL and was the highest paying for anything coming out of FL I couldn't pass it up. Finding other LTL's to go along that are on or near your route can be extremely hard to find. When you do get something, it's almost like hitting the lottery. Well guess I need to go buy a lottery ticket because I have a 2nd LTL lined up to load Monday in IL heading to WY. Both the pick up and delivery on the 2nd one is along my original route so I have no DH what so ever!! You got to love when it works out that way.

I am currently sitting in Jackson, GA at the TA where I will get my truck PM'd and reset my log book. I'll then head north to IL for a first thing in the morning load on Monday.

Hey DD,

Nice to read that things are going well for you. I started school on the 9th of March. I am liking it so far. Tested and got my learners permit this past Monday. Virginia has this "three strikes and your out" rule with regards to the General Knowledge test, so I studied that one alot and took about a zillion practice tests. We did a few lab assignments on trip planning Wed and Thursday. I used my newly learned trip planning skills to map my trip to the Mid America Trucking Show (were I sit in a hotel and type this). My only mistake I think was getting of 64 and taking 60 in order to bypass the toll road. Needless to say...I will pay the toll heading back. Good scenery along 60, though.

Take care.

Thanks Jackrabbit....My wife really liked that truck, too. It was a PITA to get a photo of since everyone was around it.
