Just a quick update......
After spending some quality time at home, I grabbed a load out of Laredo, TX going to Culver City, CA. I originally had a reload lined up but unfortunately it fell through before I got to cali. After sitting in cali for a couple of days I booked a load from the Yuma Proving Grounds going up to the Nevada Automotive Test Center in Silver Springs, NV. I then reloaded the same day in Reno, NV and headed to Tucson, AZ. On my way to Tucson I got a call from an agent telling me about a project he had lined up from Tucson, AZ to Las Cruces, NM and should last at least 2 weeks, so I "signed up" for it. It was extremely easy but ever so boring run hauling those concrete barriers from a laydown yard in Tucson to the road construction along I-10 from the TX/NM state line to about Vado, NM. (Not sure how those of you that do dedicated runs day in and day out can do it, but more power to you). When the job was done, I spent one day looking for a reload heading to or close to the house. Since I could not find anything, I said the hell with it and bounced home empty for some R&R.

How did you like Culver City.? It's a hassle driving a car through there.

It wasn't very fun that's for sure. Had to deliver a couple of roof top AC units to an old Circut City building that was being remodeled.

A few months back I delivered a 12'2" steel pipe to construction site in Culver City. It was very helpful I had a pilot car to run interference. It was amazing the number of 4 wheelers that wanted to pass me under the shadow of my pipe.

A few years ago I was traveling on I-66 in Virginia heading toward the beltway. We were in construction and I had a wide load. The trailer I pulled was 65' long and 12' wide. Lanes were narrow due to construction. I had a straight truck try to pass me in that construction. He ran off the road and nearly flipped his truck. The wheels on one side actually came off the ground. He could not wait 10 miles to get through the construction. He was a local truck out of D.C. :roll:

That place (Culver City) was definitely not made with big trucks in mind. I had the same issues as you but luckily I was pulling a legal load. That still didn't stop the 4wheelers from attempting to get around me because they couldn't wait 2 seconds for me to pull into the construction zone off the road.

Funny thing is, most of the time they have to wait at the place they are rushing to get to.
