Knock on wood, everything went smoothly and I made my final drop in Houston 2 days before it was scheduled. I called in my empty status and since there was nothing for me, I was put Out of Service and headed home for a couple of days off.

I have had a great couple of days off as I was able to knock out several items on my “Honey-Do” list. I called in this morning (Friday October 5th) to put myself back on the board and also to give my 2 weeks notice. To those that know me, will know this was coming for a while and why. For those of you that do not know me but follow my thread might be as shocked as Davis was when I told them. First and foremost I want to say that my decision to leave is NOT because of Davis. In fact I think they are an excellent company and would recommend them to everyone and anyone. My reasons for leaving are many and all personal reasons which I will not post on here. As the old saying goes….”all good things must come to an end”. My time with Davis has been nothing but a great experience and if certain circumstances change, I may request to come back. My truck manager stated that I was one of their better drivers and did not want me to leave. He asked if there was anything that he or Davis could do to change my mind. This could have just been a way to appease me, but he also asked that if they could create a profitable regional run that would keep me close to the house, would I reconsider. They stated that there is no promise of this, but they would look into it and if they can create something that was profitable to them, would I reconsider and stay on. I replied that there was a possibility but I too could not make any promises. Anyways, I was put in the “computer” to be routed through Missoula within the next 2 weeks to turn in the truck.
