They do have their own company doctor who will make the decision if you can work for them. Good luck
Any reason for the closing of the Fontana Terminal? Glad I didn't drive over there on Friday. I looked it up on Google Maps and saw the location from the photo off of Slover.
Man do I need to knock the cobwebs off and remember my pre/post trip inspection routine. Tarping wasn't bad. Load securement.... hmmm time to pull out the Davis guidelines. Damn I'm excited to go back to work!
I hope I can back up still!

Hey DD,

I understand about The Depot, My old store was willing to let drivers park there but not for home time, at least no more then a day or two. Sounds like everybody started to jump into the lot. I know in our town the ol gray hairs get upset that the big trucks are in the lot taking up a space in the far cornor away from everyone. They call the city and the city gets on the store for allowing the semi's and then issues a corrective ticket that the store doesn't meet the allowed number of parking spaces for the customers of the business.

If I had the money I'd by a large dirt lot, slap a fence up and put a sign up "truck storage, No RV's allowed". or something like that..... There's a rancher that did that just as you come down the Hwy10 into San Jacinto from Banning/Beaumont. Seems like theres always trucks in there. Looks like it's 8-10 acres... maybe smaller...

Can't wait to get back out... Hopefully We'll cross paths somewhere. good luck finding a spot.

Yeah I hear ya'....when I had the house built 4 years ago, it was the 1st time I ever had to deal with an HOA and I've hated every minute of it. But not much I can do about it for now other than deal with it. Been wanting to sell and move but the market is crap.

Not sure about GFI or GFIW. I haven't spoken with GFI for about 2 months or so now so i am not sure what's going on with them. Hope they are doing fine.

Thanks Truckerpreacher, one more step getting back on the road. All I know is I don't want to go back into retail. Too restrictive and someone always looking over your shoulder.

DD... I'd take a HOA ... I had a neighbor who painted 100 ft of wood fence bright red. Everytime we or the other neighbors walked out our front doors we saw this bright red six foot tall fence. Were lucky though.... they moved and the new neighbor repainted the fence to a neutral color. Any way my point is if we had an HOA the fence issue would never had been an issue. Now if we can get the junk cars out of the driveways that would be nice.

I saw that GFI is updating a thread titled GFI GFIW. I still wanted some of cookies that GFIw hangs on the road marker!

well..... Wife is happy but not happy that I'm going back to work. :?

Take care guys.... see ya when I see ya.

Hey dewercs, good luck with Arrow. Don't worry about orientation. They don't cover PTI. You will go through some stuff like backing and mirrors which shouldn't be a problem. Load securement should also be a snap for you. The only problem might be not enough trucks and you might have to wait a little while. You get breakfast at the motel and lunch and dinner is provided. Bring your hardhat, gloves, and safety glasses. If you have a cheap disposable camera bring it otherwise you can buy one there. The only other expense is bungee cords and 2" straps. Pretty cheap to buy from Arrow if you need them. You will most likely get a Kenworth. On inspection do not be picky or you will end up in the maintenance waiting room for a few days. Also, because Idleaire raised it's price by 50% Arrow no longer will pay for it although we still have it at the Tulsa terminal. The reason for the Fontana closure was city license fees and Calif in general. I'm going back on the road in the am so I won't have access to the Internet for a while. My offer of splitting the referral fee still stands if you can do it. It's $2,000 and half is yours. I can have my wife check my e-mail and I can call you.

Received my travel confirmation to show up at Arrow next monday. I leave this Friday from Banning, CA. on the "Dog". It should be an adventure riding on the 4th of July! Just another step in getting back to work.

Our son will be at a Baseball tournament in Irvine, Ca., so he'll miss me leaving but hopefully the scouts like him good enough to keep him in mind when scholarships come up for college.

I must say that I have yet to receive an unemployment check from the state. When I did my phone interview the lady with a heavy Japanese accent kept asking how much I made an hour and when I said I was paid by cents per mile, that I drove, she didn't understand. I had to reaaallllyyy slllooooww down for her to pickup that most drivers in big trucks get paid by how many miles in a day they drive.

When I tried to explain that my previous company required us to buy our truck and trailer or lease it from them. She had a hard time understanding me again...   She kept asking didn't I have the money and how much was the cost of the truck. I told her I would have to make payments and the truck 2005 or 2006 KW flattop was maybe worth 75k to 85K. with a 10k buy out at the end of the lease. I would also be responsible for maintenance, tires, fuel, tarps, my health benefits and taxes.

Who knows.... I'll make sure I'm hired by arrow and then let the state know I've got a job.....

See ya soon DD..... somewhere.....
