That photo disturbs me greatly :? I think I woke up next to a midget who looked like that once

My tranny didn't act up till I hooked a load to the truck,..it has gotten worse since. There is no clutch brake, and the sound that comes through the floor is way too loud.
The tires and tranny were the only things I really did nothing with before I left,..and now I have made enough profit to change them both.
I'm still torn between super singles and duals though. I have recaps on old rusty steel wheels, so I'm going to get one or the other with new wheels,...I just can't decide which one though.

If you can afford the change over Dog, by all means get the Super singles. They will increase your fuel ecnomy, reduce road noise and smooth out the ride.

When I can afford the change over, I plan on doing so.

If you hope to realize meaningful increase in fuel mileage with wide-base tires, you're going to need to swap on the trailer also.

Rank, I believe you, but: I wouldn't let it be known, to your customers. If we are talking US dollars, I would recommend $2.06.

But, here we are, a day later. You might want to make it $2.12

You may not need much of a cushion, since your main business is not trucking. But most do. To plan so close, and base your rate on your figures, could easilly have you living pay check to pay check. That is a recipe for a short tenure, in this business.
Ok thanks.
Shoot, where went the time - Going into Thursday, everyone should be thinking that
It's Costing $2.25, To Be Able to Run a Truck, these days...
I guess I'm missing your point.
Are you pointing out that fuel prices are going up daily?
Are you saying that the US dollar if falling against the CDN dollar therefore my US revenues are decreasing?

Anyway, $1.88 was a pretty good stab at my CPM with the exchange at 1.02 and fuel at $1.06 (that's per litre guys...let's not all start running to Ontario to fuel up  ). Fuel is now $1.162.

Oh and BTW, my rates are not based on my cost figures. Rest assured, I charge a princely sum by today's standards......which is why I haven't moved a load for hire in almost 7 weeks.

Hot diggity dawg...

rank, that do my heart so good, I had to repeat it.

I'm sorry if I've stepped on anybody's toes, or confused anybody, here.
The consistent theme is to raise the bar.
Everyone and his brother has been bent on lowering the bar, for far too long.

The money is being paid.
Someone is collecting it, and it ain't the trucker.
Generally speaking, of course.

Now is the perfect storm - the whole world is in a turmoil. You ain't seen much inflation, yet. You will be feeling it, much worse, and in the not too distant future.

People are now dropping like flies - big and small, tenured and newbies, and all in between.

The pain is widespread and great.
And, there is no end in sight.
Lots of people are talking about the economy picking up the pace, in a downward spiral.

You will likely never get a better chance, to raise the bar, than what you have, right now.

All I can do is to encourage the raising of the bar.
It is up to you, whether you join me, or argue with me.
Either way, the bar should be raised, and raised aggressively.

You can accept what you are handed, or you can fight for more. If you fight for more, you will likely get some bruises, in the process. Not everybody is ready, willing and able to fight.

If you come across somebody pulling a high dollar load, you should pay them your respects.

Are you serious Rank? You haven't hauled a load in 7 weeks? Don't you have multiple trucks and drivers? What happens to them? Do they just sit? Every time I turn around the CPM goes up and up in here but I really don't believe the numbers.

I've been running for many months now at $1.80 on the average and doing fine given my marital status and bills. After all my expenses and personal bills including $580 in health insurance I'm left with over $800 per week.

I just don't get it? (New sig for ya Diesel)
