Hi,

I was looking to get a new Peterbilt 379, but need to sell my old truck, but I am unsure of how much to ask for it? Below are the specs, let me know what you guys think, i should sell it for? Thanks...

2000 Volvo 660
650,000 miles
Has power windows, heated mirrors, fridge and power supply installed

Let me know....thanks...

$25k seems to be the middle of the road on Truckpaper.com

There is a website which will tell you the value of most trucks. I don't recall the address. Someone may be able to tell you. You may also want to do a search on the forum. I believe it was given at one time.

I believe you pay per evaluation, either enter your vin or pick from options.

That's what i was think to, around $25,000...but I thought about buying a used peterbilt, and most of the ones, I looked at so many miles, for 2005 and 2006's and the ones with low mileage, were almost as much as buying a new one....

why not just fix up your old one, lets say you put $25K in it and it would be like a new one with you only owing $25K..better deal to me it seems.

I'm with this guy on this...Forget about buying new...Cheeze, there's a TON of repo'd, or returned owner/op spec'd NICE big cars all over the country right now...You'll save a fortune on a previously owned, 1 or 2 yr. or older truck. A new Pete will set you back around $ 120K, whereas a one year old one with less than 100K miles on it could run around 90K, as a guy I just recently ate lunch with bought. He got a 2006 379 XH Pete in perfect shape, and saved 30 grand...
You shoulda bought my 97 I just sold Saturday 11/10/06 for $19,500.00; The guy paid cash for it, flew to my house in New England, and drove it home to Wyoming of all places...and we became good friends as he stayed here with us for 4 days waiting for paperwork. We had a heck of a time cooking outdoors, and riding around showing him the rural New England countryside. He's a first time owner, and got a GOOD, well-kept truck by yours truly for a fair dollar. That's a really nice way to start off in this risky business...debt-free.
Good luck with your sale and re-purchase, guy.
