Take the 6700 and be happy. Shop it around next year and it will come down some. That's close to what I paid my first year. It then dropped when I renewed last year. You done good.

I am not familiar with Victoria Insurance, but $6,700 is a pretty good rate starting out. You can check them out through AM Best. Rosty is correct in that your rates should go down when you renew providing you have no claims or changes to your mvr.

my cargo and liability is furnished by the company, my bob-tail, collision and comp including towing and break down is 3600 a year

That is a pretty hefty premium, Fredog. :eek2: You may want to check around to see if you can find a better rate.

Insurance is always high on new buisnesses, especially trucking, and especially on first time buyers/owners.

Hope you have lots of work in Pa, the Jersey guys are starving, so are the Ct guys, tri-axles in dealer lots are a dime a dozen over in Jersey

I'll look when I get home, I had the price wrong, it's 307 a month, but my wife says it's only for 8 months, not 12 like I figured
