I think that $60 per month plan only gives you National access which is dial up speed. You don't get Broadband when available. You may want to check on that yourself.

You don't have Verizon in Canada? Look in the Yellow Pages under "Le Verizeeona" Pretty cool huh, I still remember my French from high school.

I gave Nextel my EIN but that was long ago. I'm not sure of Verizon policies but I'm boycotting them anyway. I think my boycott is starting to affect them if they have to go Canadians for business.

I pay the 59/month thru Verizon and I get National and Broadband, when available which is pretty often anymore.

It's now down to $59 for broadband steve, basically the dialup speed one is out of the picture.

Only problem is we will pay $2 per mb while in Canada.

Rogers is the only one that offers an aircard in canada AFAIK. They're $75 a month, and charge a hell of a lot while in the US.

So for us, our only option is an american carrier.

Yup.

Fortunately we probably spend the majority of our time in the US anyways. Besides, cell coverage up here sucks. I keep hearing everyone says Iraq has better coverage. Something about weather balloons..

OMG they cant even run a pay phone right...why the hell should I sign anything with them???????
You know this pisses me off...that in such a supposed advanced country....I can only buy an air card from only 3 Co's...n they all seem like crap?
1.AT&T
2.Verizon
3Sprint
The best of the bunch seems sprint, but that aint saying much!
AT&T was pond scum.....my cingular air card went bad n the mothe#RF&%rs wouldnt even replace it or service it!
Verzon cant even run pay phones effeciently...so why trust em with an air card?
I still owe sprint $... ...my bad...so i cant try them ...im screwed!

Pepe it's much worse up here, trust me.

Our data packages with cell companies sucks. We're one of the worst in the world actually.

I can't speak for Verizon but for AT&T you can just give them a bogus SSN. It will not match up with your name on your credit report and it automatically kicks you into their Pre-Pay program. I did this for a few phones I picked up and gave out to some of my best customers, had them engraved with my logo and number and the temporary activation made it that much easier for them to enjoy. Now they have all activated the phones on their own and I had no intention of paying for more than one month on the phones anyways. Just a promotional gimmick.

$2/MB while in Canada? That will nix the deal for sure. Pity.
