Bandit 102, be sure and look me up if you ever get out my way. The Ercoupe is a fantastic plane for a design that first flew in 1939. But that RV-6, oh, mama! I'd love to have one. We have lots of them flying around out here in Idaho.
As to fuel efficient trucks, there does seem to be an awful lot of individual variation. My friend drove a Peterbilt conventional with a big Cat motor and it would regularly do 7 mpg. My International Aero truck does about 6.28 most of the time, sometimes better, sometimes worse.
